The title is a little misleading, I won't be telling you HOW my garden grows but I will be telling you WHAT I am growing this year and what Flower Share members get to look forward to.
I am a colour lover, but then again I am also a romantic minimalist- there is something about the way a crisp white pops! I have chosen to grow flowers that appealed to me for their unique colour, shape, texture, rarity or hardiness. It is unlikely that you will find one flower with all of these traits. Typically, the more rare flowers don't last very long but that doesn't stop me from loving them and wanting to share their ethereal beauty. The hardy ones are typically your run of the mill flower shop varieties BUT I have sourced some unique colours to bring new life to an old classic.
Here are some of the flowers I am excited to be growing this year:
Zinnias- an old classic but they are long lasting, have a wide range of colours and they just remind me of summer so they are an easy choice
Carnations- the most classic of the classics except that I have found some really beautiful and unique colours this time around.
Aster- specifically the King Size Apricot.
Cosmos- really fancy ones, especially the new to me Apricot Lemonade.
I will be back next week with more of what I am growing!
