On a rare sunny day in October, I spent the afternoon with Brittany of BKH Photography ( http://bkhphoto.ca/ ) and Alexa from Begonia ( http://www.hellobegonia.com ) on a beautiful property in PEC- getting our creative juices flowing. It was juicy alright! After a busy wedding season it was nice to hang out with some other creative souls and get messy. Alexa is such a vibrant soul and she was up for anything. We had a lot of fun shoving petals down her top, crunching in the leaves and fending off a wild cat. I usually steer far away from the retro flowers we used that day- but I loved how well they worked with the vibe we had going. After working in the flower industry for nearly a decade, I have really been caught up in the flower snobbery, and familiarity that comes with the trade. I have decided to challenge myself and start playing with some flowers that I have held a grudge against for so long and I am going to continue to do- both with the flowers and the colours. With that being said- I won't touch gerbera daisies with a ten foot pole and roses and babies breath will never be allowed within 6 feet of one another. I have a few more creative projects in the works over the next few months and I am tres excite to do some more experimenting.
